Whether it is for the aesthetic or restorative purpose, rhinoplasty known also as nose operation changes the overall balance of the face.

Seen as a spectacular operation, rhinoplasty or nose remodeling alters the appearance of the face. Often practiced for a purely aesthetic purpose, rhinoplasty can also be carried out for “functional” purposes - this is the case when a patient presents a respiratory or restorative discomfort, in the case of a broken or deviated nose during an accident for example.

How to choose the right surgeon?

It is true that it is difficult to choose the surgeon to whom one will entrust not only its beauty but also its health. To choose the right surgeon, one can follow these four recommendations:

· Ask your pharmacist, doctor, nurse etc...

· Consult the official list of surgical specialists established by The Council of the Medical Profession.

· If possible, choose a surgeon near his home for easier follow-up.

· Feeling confident. Once the choice and the appointment are made and once you find yourself in front of your surgeon, do not be afraid to ask which might comfort you.

What about the pain after the surgery?

In general, postoperative pains are not likely to be significant, as opposed to a broken nose. The intake of analgesics helps to alleviate any pain. The main discomfort comes rather from the nasal obstruction caused by the endonasal wick or crusts, thus causing the operated person to breathe through the mouth for one or more days.

What complications can we face with this type of surgery?

Postoperative complications are rare when the operation is performed in a healthy setting and by an authorized and qualified surgeon. Nasal bleeding is possible, but remains rare too. The infection is exceptional in this highly vascularized area of the face.

Postoperative hematomas can occur after surgery, and reflect the presence of accumulated blood in the operated areas. They usually disappear within a few days, but if they are accompanied by painful tensions or swelling, a re-do surgery may be necessary to evacuate them.

What does a rhinoplasty surgery cost?

The cost of a rhinoplasty surgery varies between 4000 and 7000 Euros and depends on the complexity of the intervention, the surgeon and the clinic chosen. The surgeon must necessarily give the patient a detailed estimate at the end of the consultation. Note: A rhinoplasty for aesthetic purposes cannot benefit from any management.
